Direct trauma to tip: Direct trauma to tips of fingers and thumb usually produce a contusion to the bone and bruising of surrounding soft tissue. Most respond to rest, ice, splint, NSAIDs. If one develops increase in pain and discoloration under the nail u should be seen by an me.
