Follicilitis: These sound like areas of folliculitis-infected hair follicles and would be treated with warm soaks, cleansing with mild soap and application of antibiotic ointment like bacitracin or Neosporin. If no improvement or appearance of spreading redness, see your physician for systemic antibiotic treatment.
