A member asked:

Have upper respiratory infection which has gone to my eyes should see my gp?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Keratoconjunctivitis: Epidemic keratoconjunctivitis (EKC) is caused by adenoviridae, which can cause a preceding upper respiratory infection. Your GP may not have the wherewithal to handle the possible ophthalmic complications, but see an ophthalmologist as his/her LAST APPOINTMENT OF THE DAY, so the room can be scrubbed down after you leave. Wear latex gloves in the waiting room, and tell the staff "possible EKC!!!"
