Needs time: The pylorus is the muscle at the end of the stomach that allows food and liquids to go from the stomach into the intestines. This occurs periodically, it does not remain open all the time. Your stomach empties itself every 20 minutes approximately. The water in your stomach will move into the intestine, depending on the volume you drink it may take time for it all to empty.
