It is possible this: can be attributed to peri-menopausal changes. I interpret the "white slimy discharge" to mean you are having a mucous discharge and it is this mucous mixed with normal red menstrual blood that gives the orangish look. Another question would be ? how irregular....being late a few days...or several weeks? If no other symptoms (itching, pain) mucous may be normal but best to review all with your Doc.
