Nabothian cysts: These mucous laden cysts line the outer portion of the cervix and burst from time to time, releasing some fresh blood and--you guessed it--mucous. The cysts are, generally, considered benign (e.g. Non-cancerous). Of course, there are other things that could cause such symptoms as well (e.g. Polyps, more sinister lesions on the cervix, etc..). If symptoms are persistent, get checked.
