Sensitivity problem: This is the chemical that makes toothpaste foamy and spread out over your teeth. Many people are sensitive to it. Read the labels and stay away from it if you have this sensitivity. Sls is in many products.

Various reasons: Anything that has an effect on tissue in the mouth can cause a canker sore. Sls is a degreasing and foaming agent which can cause tissue trauma in susceptible individuals. I personally have had numerous patients over the years who used to get numerous canker sores and by switching to a non- sls toothpaste 99% have had a reduction in the amount of canker sore lesions.
