Osteoarthritis: It sounds like you have osteoarthritis of the hands. This is very common and runs in families. You should see your MD. The bump on your finger sounds like it may be a Bouchard's node. Osteoarthritis features these kinds of bumps that can be painful. Make sure you manage any post menopausal osteoporosis with your doctor , get a DXA scan too. Good luck.
