Keep clean: Keep it clean and if it is not resolving or improving in the next week, have it evaluated. That you do not feel much in the area is not necessarily bad. You will have return of sensation once infection and swelling resolved.

Get it drained: I agree with Dr. Laura Anissian. That said, PLEASE DO NOT put anything that is not sterile (like a safety pin) in it. We also all have diff ideas of big and safety pins come in diff sizes! Also don't know where? To get better needs to be kept open, can keep squeezing or pack with packing gauze from pharm. Can change fast & will likely need to be opened, why wait until your in pain or you get sick!

Abscess: If abscess has fully expressed itself without further redness, tenderness, or pain, it can heal itself but keeping it clean. If any pain, redness, tenderness, see MD to be sure surrounding skin or deeper tissues have not become infected.
