A member asked:

What is a good mucolytic/expectorant drug? immediate-release 400mg guaifenesin doesn't help that much, even after taking more than recommended.

Expectoration : Hydration and more hydration is the key. Mucinex (guaifenesin) is somewhat effective. Mucomyst pills may also help. However, in a generally healthy individual, without underlying lung disease, hydration and time should do most of the work. Eucalyptus oil seems to work in some people, mostly in inhaled form. Please discuss with ur Doctor prior to staring any regiment.
