No...: In order to treat a cough, you first need to know what the etiology of the cough is. It is not always a good idea to suppress a cough since this is your body's way of getting rid of substances that are harmful, like bacteria. An expectorant is usually not needed because your body will cough enough without it in most cases. To treat a cough, have it diagnosed by your doctor first!
