Orofer: As an iron supplement I suspect Orofer is causing black discoloration of your stools- notorious side effect of iron supplements. The best way to tell would be to stop taking it for few days and see if your stools return to previous color. If that is the case you have your answer. If that is not the cause would suggest discussing with your doc at next well visit.

YES: Iron (one of the components of OROFER) can cause a black stool! Hope this helps! Dr Z
