7 wks pregnant: This could be due to pregnancy gingivitis, or it could be a more serious issue. It is important to maintain your dental care, especially while you are pregnant, because any health issues you have can affect your baby. Call your dentist for an examination, and maintain your dental care during and after your pregnancy.

Why wait?: The abscess will not get better on its own. Pregnancy is not a contraindication for needed dental care. There is nothing your dentist will do during your treatment that will harm your baby. Failure to treat can result in bigger problems. Your dentist will consult with your OBGYN if needed.

No need for hospital: You can wait until the dentist can see you. The access should not harm the baby at this point. Do get it treated so you feel better as soon as possible!!
