Can smoking affect a liver function test?

Yes: Smoking can affect liver tests. Studies have found that smoking raises the serum γ-glutamyl transferase (ggt) level and decreases serum protein and Albumin levels. It does not appear to affect the ast, alt, bilirubin, or alkaline phosphatase.
