Your friend needs to: call 911 now to have an ambulance take the child to a hospital-based Pediatric Emergency Room. Ingestion of even a teaspoon of camphor-containing preparations can cause seizures within 20 minutes. . Vicks does not help congestion in anyone of any age. It is not recommended as a "chest rub" or as an additive to humidifiers for children because of the danger of ingestion.
