What is the breastmilk intake curve for a 4-12 week old infant?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends on the baby: Your breast milk supply is usually well established by 2-4 weeks. If the baby is having a growth spurt, which can happen any time, she might want to nurse every hour or two for a few days until your supply builds up; she will then go back to less frequent nursings. You can help by drinking more water and letting her nurse as she wishes. She will nurse more if it is hot, also.
