A member asked:

Washed dirt/ soil off of organic mushrooms but still a bit left aft washing this bad? if rinse under tap water for 2 mins does this make non-organic?

? for a chef: This is a non-medical answer to a non-medical question, but from a food prep perspective, rinsing mushrooms can give them a soggy texture which is avoidable by actually wiping them with a moist paper towel to clear away visible dirt instead or washing directly in water. The organic designation is based upon the way the mushrooms are grown and is not affected by the way they are washed.
