See answer: Infants & toddlers can catch colds & Diarrhoea at any time because they have decreased resistance from lack of antibodies. These develop gradually over first 5-6 years. Viruses & other organisms abound around children esp if they are in day care centers or play school. Cold &not dressing warm may become a trigger/ stress for these organisms to cause problems. Regular vaccines help resistance.

No: Infants and toddlers catch cold or get diarrhea from exposure to germs. How they dress is more a reflection of the choices made by their caretakers. If dressed improperly, they are also likely to be taken into situations where they are exposed more germs.
