A member asked:

Is it any more dangerous to take 0.5mg klonopin (clonazepam) following a week long bout of insomnia due to risk of dying in sleep since body is already so tired?

Get sleep evaluation: I think you may be mixing up DEATH as an indirect consequence of insomnia (car crash, falling down steps, etc.) vs. DEATH as a direct consequence of being awake 250 hrs. without sleep (impossible...but as an example). The former is TOO COMMON...the latter extremely UNCOMMON. If used as directed Klonopin (clonazepam) should be fine but it's not a sleep med. Better to get proper sleep eval and treat ROOT CAUSE.

Major Depression: I understand your distress of fear of dying. Thank you for informing about depression, EKG Stress Test and Mohs Surgery in 2009. Feel Blessings of 3 Million Air Sacs in your lungs due to which you are alive even during period of being awake at night; and functioning heart. Klonopin can help with panic, not depression.
