Is it first time?: if first time do not worry if repeatedly then get investigated with full hormonal work up and a sonogram if hair on upper lip and chin then need further investigation

Probably normal: A skipped menses from lack of ovulation occurs in 15% of menstrual cycles. If true, menstrual bleeding should occur with the next cycle. Bleeding starts when progesterone levels fall, and in cycles where ovulation does not occur, there is no progesterone production. Estrogen continues to be produced and prevents bleeding. If persistent or accompanied by pain, see your doctor to be evaluated.
