Yes: Corneal arcus (arcus juvenilis in young people, arcus senilis in older than 50) occurs as cholesterol & lecithin is deposited into the peripheral cornea as limbal blood vessels deliver nutrition to the cornea. In young people it may be a sign of high serum cholesterol and it's advisable to have this checked out. A congenital disorder (Fisheye disease) is a cause that is due to an enzyme deficiency
