Bugs vs infection: Not too familiar with bug bites in DR, but in Southern US, bites like that, which seem to continue afterwards, can be due to evil little bugs called "chiggers". Eventually goes away, but insanely itchy. Could also be a secondary bacterial infection of hair follicles due to scratching or shaving legs. Might try an OTC antibacterial ointment and see doctor if no improvement.
