Not sure: mesalamine enemas are used for colitis that extends up to the second half the colon, while mesalamine suppositories are used for colitis of the rectum (proctitis). I do not use mesalamine for hemorrhoids.. so you may want to double check on this with your doctor.

Have external hemorrhoids which are painful. Consulted a doctor and on sheriproct suppositories and ointment for one day. Then hemorrhoids started bleeding. Can I carry on with medication without going back to consult?
