Affect metabolism : It is a complex question. Briefly, low function of thyroid called hypothyroidism will slow down the using of glucose. If patient has diabetes, hypothyroidism may worsen diabetes, but patient with hypothyroidism may slow down intake of food, so the taking calories may decrease so the blood auger level may be even out. Vise visa hyperthyroidism may have the opposite effect.
