Could be a Virus: See your dentist. It could be a viral breakout caused by HSV or Herpes. Sometimes this is known as a cold sore or fever blister when it occurs on the lips. If so, you need to know. It is contageous.

Herpes not likely: Related to friction and pressure on that area during the extraction. Be sure your oral surgeon (or dentist) checks it.
