Exterminator: Getting rid of bed bugs effectively usually requires help from a professional exterminator with experience in bed bug control. They are very difficult to permanently get rid of on your own. There are bed bug mattress covers now available to help prevent re-infestation. Benadryl (diphenhydramine) and topical Hydrocortisone can help alleviate the intense reaction and hives that these bites can cause.
