is it safe to take kratom while on warfarin?

1 doctor answer
Dr. Ira Friedlander
42 years experience Cardiac Electrophysiology
Although there is no: specific suggestion that Vitamin K or liver metabolic functions will be altered by kratom, its alkaloid and opiate effects could change your metabolism or gut motility. Either would affect warfarin efficacy. Like any other potential interaction with warfarin if it is done routinely the warfarin dosing can be adjusted to compensate. Irregular use could lead to higher risk.
