4 doctors weighed in across 2 answers

? Cause: It is imperative to know the cause of the liver disease because that could guide the treatment. It could be viral, toxins ie medications, alcohol, acetomenophen, or auto immune or mechanical ie blockage of a bile duct or many other including fatty liver.. Basically if you have liver disease, you must abstain from alcohol and other medications which can damage the liver. Healthy diet in general.

Depends on the cause: The term means a disease process affecting the entire liver. The ability to heal liver disease depends on the specific cause in a given patient and the degree of damage thats occurred to the organ. If the condition is early and hasn't progressed to an advanced stage of cirrhosis(scaring and destruction of liver tissue) it may be partly reversible. There are MANY causes of liver disease.
