Depends on the cause: The term means a disease process affecting the entire liver. The ability to heal liver disease depends on the specific cause in a given patient and the degree of damage thats occurred to the organ. If the condition is early and hasn't progressed to an advanced stage of cirrhosis(scaring and destruction of liver tissue) it may be partly reversible. There are MANY causes of liver disease.
