A member asked:

I am 25 days late on my period i have took a few home pregnancy test and they came out negative i have had pain in my abdomen what should i do?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

How bad is the pain?: If you did the tests correctly and the result was negative at 25 days after a missed period, you not likely to be pregnant. The pain in abdomen would require additional history, physical examination and may be some tests. If you can live with the pain you may wait and watch, but do see a doctor or go to emergency department if pain gets worse. Menstrual irregularities are not uncommon and anovulatory cycle is a common cause. If you miss more than two periods it would be time to see your doctor. If you do not wish to be pregnant, use contraception all the time. You may consider implanted contraceptive or an IUD.
