Echo: An EF less than 50% is usually abnormal. In the 40 to 50% range there may not be symptoms. You should discuss this report with your doctor and get an explanation of the significance, cause and any further steps indicated. Sometimes the EF value can be wrong so have the discussion, don't just assume the abnormality.

Echo one year ago with an EF of 35 to 45. Echo yesterday with EF of 20%. There are no symptoms. No fatigue, exercise intolerance, shortness of breath, swelling. Is it possible the echos EF is wrong? Can someone have an EF of 20 have no symptoms?
