Get into treatment: Start with a visit to your pcp for exam/eval to rule out medical reasons for decreased appetite and depressed mood. Include meds you may take and any alcohol/drug/tobacco use. Ask for referral to a mental health professional. If you're at college, the student health center is a good resource. Depression is treatable. You deserve to feel better. See: https://secure02.kidshealth.org/teen/your_mind/mental_health/depression.html I hope this helps. All the best.

Therapy?: Have you yet tried any form of psychotherapy? Typically, the optimal combination of things to treat emotional issues such as anxiety or depression, which are common is medication (which, on your best day, is supposed to take the edge off symptoms) but the real gruntwork takes place in psychotherapist's consulting room.

Treatment Works !: You should have an evaluation by a psychiatrist. Many people have such symptoms. Medication, therapy or both can be very helpful. As part of the evaluation you will should also have a physical exam and blood test by your primary care doctore . The important thing is that treatment works and you should expect to feel better with treatment.
