A member asked:

How does aspiration occur when eating, drinking,? i'm worried cause i cough sometimes after i eat. 23 yrs and i do have acid reflux

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Aspiration: your windpipe and you've gut go together and when you swallow the food is directed into the gut but sometimes a little gets into your trachea or windpipe and cause you to cough it is not of any importance the fact that you have reflux may cause a little increase in that happening
