Hard to tell...: I have difficulty picturing what you mean by "multiple small sores". If painful, it could be herpes. With or without pain, it doesn't sound like either strep throat or gonorrhea. If at risk for STDs and no pain, then the secondary stage of syphilis (typically 2-6 months after being infected) might be possible. Don't take chances: play it safe and see a doctor, or public STD clinic if at risk.
