Try not to rinse: Keep pressure on the extraction site for a few hours. You may drink but avoid hot liquids. If you must rinse do so sparingly. When the gauze is merely pink you can stop biting on it. After a day you can eat drink and rinse as you please not avoid disturbing the area of the extraction lest you cause it to start bleeding or other complication.

Not recommended: Don’t rinse your mouth even with cold water, and don’t brush or floss next to the site for 24 hours because it is important that a blood clot forms on the extraction site to stop bleeding. You should be able to resume your normal activities after 24-48 hours.
