Silly question- can down feathers in pillows carry germs/diseases that can live/transmit to humans such as streptococcus pneumoniae?

The filling for: pillows (even down or feathers) goes through a sterilization process before being sold. If you are referring to a used pillow that someone else had been using, it would be potentially possible to transmit infection however in the absence of moisture it is unlikely that bacteria like strep pneumoniae would survive long enough to be transmitted.
