Chlamydia: If Chlamydia trachomatis is again detected on repeat testing, it should be treated with azithromycin as long as there is no contraindication to doing so. Persistence or recurrence of symptoms should not be attributed to Chlamydia trachomatis drug resistance; drug resistance to azithromycin or doxycycline has not been demonstrated to date.
