Have it checked: Iuds are great methods of birth control. One brand called Mirena (levonorgestrel) can stay up to 5 years. Another called paragard can stay up to 10 years. You should be checked to make sure it is place and confirm which type you have. If Mirena (levonorgestrel) then it is time to be removed. If paragard you have two more years. The return to fertility is fast after an iud is removed.
