Exam: Ask your Dentist to examine the lesion. There are many more causes for sore white spots in your mouth other than viral. Have lesion examined NOW.

Test: Herpes inside the mouth is more common upon initial exposure and more frequently in childhood. Your doctor can get a culture of the sore for herpes viruses.
