Pain under rib cage: Has the pain persisted?How long? Is he short of breath? Is there pain on pressing the area? Could be muscular strain , for which advil (ibuprofen) may help or gas or could be cardiac or rarely could be collapsed lung ( if short of breath) Since he is 39 , male ,left sided chest pain go to ER now
