It's well known that: People having anxiety attacks or panic attacks get that "lump in the throat" as part of the attacks, and thus should not try to eat at that time. When there is no more anxiety (due to adequate treatment), one should get further evaluation if there remains a "lump" sensation without anxiety and without OCD swallowing symptoms.

"Globus": Referred to as "globus," the lump sensation can correlate w anxiety, but can also share other causes such as acid or volume reflux from stomach into esophagus and even to throat area. If persistent, consider follow up primary care or gastroenterologist. A trial of a proton pump inhibitor medication can also be considered thru ur Doctor. Happy to consult if further questions.
