It Depends...: Ask the person you are going to have sex with if they'd feel comfortable with that. And ask yourself what's the big deal if you don't have sex for two weeks. And ask your doctor why it will take that long. It really should take just a few days. And ask the last person you had sex with if they've been tested. Well, you get the picture. Too long!: However long it takes, you should not have sex (even safe sex) until the results are available. But there is no legitimate reason why it should take 2 weeks. The test itself takes 1-2 hours in the lab; all the rest is time to send the specimen and receive results. Discuss w/ your doctor or clinic. Or find another place to be tested, like your health department or a Planned Parenthood clinic.
