Yes: if it is coming from the spine. irritation/damage of upper cervical nerves can cause both of these symptoms also consider auriculotemporal neuralgia, glossopharyngeal neuralgia i would seek medical help and obtain an MRI C-spine, face and brain to see any anatomical causes
