If you son sustained: blunt trauma to the temporal bone or piercing trauma to the ear, take him to a hospital-based Emergency Room immediately where physicians can examine him, obtain needed radiographic studies & call in any surgeons needed, like an ENT specialist &/or neurosurgeon, depending on the findings. Do not delay. The doctors will tell you what needs to be done after they assess & stabilize him.
