A member asked:

Why can children get hit and the head amd be fine where an adult would have a concussion?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Varies: The adult system is complex, with fully developed neuron connections that may respond poorly to head trauma. The infant or child, with a developing but simple set of connections, is more tolerant to some similar jarring events. The kid is also more likely to lay down and stay put after trauma, allowing them to reorient and not aggravate the issue, while the adult may try to ignore it & get worse
