Chlorine sensitive: Your doctor that treats you for asthma may know better. Your history would be informative here. The chlorine reaction is more irritant in nature, so it is ok to have exposure (not necessarily life threatening). You may benefit from using inhalant medication including corticosteroid inhaler or albuterol before swimming. The headache may or may not be related to respiratory effects.

I went to the pool last month and the next day I started getting asthma attacks. It lasted about a week and a half. I know the Chlorine triggered it . If I wanted to go to a pool with very little Bromine, would that be safe for asthma??
Does the chlorine in pools aggravate asthma? I seem to get asthma attacks more when swimming than when doing other exercise.
