It depends: That is the right answer. For different reasons (your body tolerance, coexisting personal/familial tendencies and characteristics etc) your esophagus may break the first episode, or no damage (almost) at all after years. Also, the magnitude of the episodes count into the equation. It depends of all this and other factors.
