Common: Babies crawl between 6-10 months. It is an important milestone. But if the baby has not started crawling by 7 months u shd not get worried as long as his other milestones are ok. Some babies do not crawl at all but the other milestones continue to develop normally. If u want more information go to parents.com/ crawling. If worried consult baby's pediatrician.

Be patient: By 7 mo I expect a kid to sit with a curved back. By 9-12 months I expect them to sit with a straight back and try to pull to stand.Crawling and walking require similar nerve function and may occur at the same time.

Crawling is the most: variable gross motor milestone. Since babies are put "Back to Sleep", normally delayed crawling is more common. Unless you & your pediatrician think your baby has abnormal muscle tone; i.e., is "stiff" or "floppy", just continue "floor time" play. Use the AAP's Healthy Children app or healthychildren.org to track development. Call your state's Early Intervention Program for free eval if worried
