Waking up gasping : for air is a usually a sign of sleep apnea; gastro-esophageal reflux severe enough to cause it? Maybe, depending on your history. What does " I don't sleep often" mean? I trust your MD knows your health history & has results of your cranial ultrasound, CT scan of the brain & endoscopy. Tell your doctor. Seek an appt. sooner than Dec. & ask if any studies are needed before your visit.
