See answer: You can't actually get gas in your back. But you can have excess gas accumulation due to air swallowing(aerophagia) that can cause pain radiating to the left upper back(posterior chest). SEE> http://bit.ly/1OBX7kn Pain in the same area can come from stomach ulcers or gastritis. Pain in the right upper back(posterior chest) can come from gall bladder disease.
