Painful bubble like bump on my knuckle, i just got another one on my thumb. are they warts? do warts show up randomly? i've never had them till now.

Ganglion cysts: Warts are not usually painful though they may appear spontaneously seemingly. More likely would be a small cystic fluid collection related to the joints and tendons in this area. These are common, may be painful, and may also wax and wane a bit over time.
